Stainless Cylinder

GHZ-R

As wastewater is becoming increasingly aggressive worldwide and the environment requires more durable and resistant components, we have developed a corrosion-resistant hydraulic cylinder.

Only Cr-Ni-Mo steels with very high resistance to crevice and pitting corrosion, as well as intercrystalline corrosion, are used as raw materials.

References: This hydraulic cylinder has been designed to cover applications in areas such as; sewage and waste water treatment plants, environmental technology, agriculture, offshore, chemical-technical industry and food processing.

With integrated ATEX position measuring system

Only austenitic Cr-Ni-Mo steels (A4) are used for this cylinder design. This ensures very high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, even in highly aggressive environments. The cylinder can be equipped or upgraded with valve technology or an internal position measuring system and can be used in ATEX zones with explosive gases.

Aluminiumcylinder

GHZ-A

In addition to normal applications, aluminum cylinders can be used particularly well in areas where aggressive environmental conditions prevail. Aluminum cylinders are also particularly suitable for use in environments with high humidity. In addition to the corrosion resistance of the aluminum, the low weight is also a major advantage of this cylinder series.

Cartridge Cylinder

Thanks to their very compact design, our cartridge cylinders allow space-saving installation in steel, cast iron or aluminum base blocks.

The cylinder can be used with various media such as air, gases and hydraulic oil. For example, the cylinder can operate hydraulically and has a separately sealed internal channel for conveying or injecting another medium, such as compressed air.

Depending on your requirements and the area of application, we work with you to adapt the cartridge cylinders so that they can be used perfectly in your application.

Frequently asked questions

Why might a hydraulic cylinder move slowly or jerkily, lose force, or fail to maintain its position?2026-10-20T12:46:03+02:00

Possible causes include insufficient pressure or flow rate, air in the system, clogged filters, an incorrectly adjusted or defective valve, internal leakage, pump wear, or mechanical strain. A cylinder can also lose force without any external oil leakage. A reliable diagnosis requires an inspection of the entire system—including the cylinder, pump, valves, and lines; in safety-critical applications, the system should not continue to be operated until this has been done.

Where can I have a leaking or defective hydraulic cylinder repaired or overhauled?2026-10-20T12:44:44+02:00

GRIBI Hydraulics AG performs damage analysis, repairs, overhauls, and general maintenance for hydraulic cylinders. Depending on the nature of the damage, this may involve replacing seals or repairing damaged components. This service applies to both GRIBI systems and equipment from other manufacturers and can be carried out either in the workshop or on-site, as required.

What information does GRIBI Hydraulics AG need to design a hydraulic cylinder?2026-10-20T12:43:43+02:00

To design a cylinder, it is particularly helpful to have details regarding the required force, stroke, operating pressure, speed, and installation situation. Furthermore, information about the mounting method, available installation space, operating environment, and the required quantity is essential. The more comprehensive the technical specifications provided, the more precisely GRIBI Hydraulics AG can develop and offer the ideal cylinder.

How do I choose the right hydraulic cylinder for my application?2026-10-20T12:41:39+02:00

Key factors include the required force, stroke, operating pressure, speed, installation constraints, and mounting method. Additionally, environmental factors—such as exposure to moisture, dirt, or temperature extremes—as well as specific hygiene requirements must be taken into account. GRIBI Hydraulics AG provides support in selecting the most suitable standard or custom-designed cylinder.

Who develops and manufactures custom hydraulic cylinders?2026-10-20T12:33:17+02:00

GRIBI Hydraulics AG develops and manufactures both custom and standard hydraulic cylinders. Depending on the application, parameters such as size, stroke, pressure, mounting, and sealing can be tailored to specific requirements. The product range includes classic cylinders, stainless steel versions, aluminum models, and compact cartridge-style cylinders.
